Key Responsibilities
|
Incharge of the department
Advisor to the University Management Board on security issues
Responsible for the formulation, planning and control of the departmental budget
Responsible for the effective coordination and implementation of University policies in the department
Responsible for fromulation and implementation of departmental strategic plan
Responsible for promoting safety cultures
Any other duty that may be assigned by the Vice Chancellor or University Management
Responsible for promoting quality standards within the department as per the ISO 9001:2015
Responsible for security matters related to staff and students
Manage security intelligence system within the university
Carry out any investigation of staff and students disciplinary matters as referred by University University Management Board
Attend to all security meetings in all campuses
Plan and organize training for security staff
Execute periodic security survey for all campuses
Liaise with external security agents

Qualifications and skills
|
KCSE grade C+ (plus) or equivalent
Masters degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology or any Social Science from a recognised university
Degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology/Police Science from a recognized University with an experience of not less than 10 years
Must be trained on Investigation and Security Management Systems
Must have held the position of Chief Inspector of Police or equivalent with not less than 5 years experience
A valid basic first aid Certificate with proven experience in first aid
Certificate of good conduct from the Kenya Police
